Meet Your Delegate

Mark Sickles

Now serving in his eleventh term in Virginia’s House of Delegates, Delegate Mark Sickles (D-17) continues to focus on affordable health care coverage for all, expanded voting access, sensible gun safety measures, equality for all people, and transportation solutions for Northern Virginia. As the Chairman of the Health and Human Services Committee, as Chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Resources, and as a budget conferee, he is working with a great team to expand access and reliability of Virginia’s mental health, substance abuse, and disability services.

Delegate Sickles has worked to pass Medicaid Expansion and secure historic teacher pay raises. He has secured funding for nursing homes, disability services, behavioral health system, the National Museum of the U.S. Army, Gunston Hall, and GMU’s School of Conflict Analysis and Resolution. His advocacy has improved services for Virginians with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Virginia’s hospitals and long-term care facilities, and resources to combat COVID-19.
